'Impossible Barriers' were made to be broken!

Rebecca Sparks, our president, believes in breaking impossible barriers.  Rebecca was born and raised in Kansas.  It was there that she began her running career.  In addition to several championships in high school, she set four high school records that still exist today.  Rebecca attended Johnson County Community College, Kansas, where she became three-time All-American.  Rebecca moved on to Bethany College in Kansas where she became three-time All-Region and three-time All-Conference.  Rebecca currently holds six college records.

After completing her collegiate eligibility, her next step was in the Air Force.  Rebecca was awarded Female Athlete of the Year at Patrick AFB, Florida in 1992.  Rebecca also became a four time medalist in the World-Wide Air Force National Championship.

Rebecca has been awarded Florida's Space Coast Runner of the Year Series Champion five times.  and was also awarded the Central Florida Track Shack Grand Prix Over-All Female Champion for five consecutive years.  By 1999 Rebecca had broken 27 Florida Road Race Course Records!

In 1996 Rebecca decided to take her running career to the next level - she began training for the 1996 Summer Olympics.  Rebecca had a personal best time of 4:22 in the 1500 meter, shy only by two seconds.

Rebecca also assists other runners to improve their running abilities through a camp designed and organized by Rebecca herself, called Peak When It Counts.  Rebecca formed a fantastic team and together they opened Up & Running On The East Coast, Inc to spread the sport to everyone on the East Coast.
